Joseph Kairo Wambui, popularly known as Khalif Kairo, was born on November 5, 1996, in Amboseli, a neighborhood within Kawangware in Nairobi County. Raised by a single mother who owned a small kiosk selling household essentials, Kairo learned entrepreneurship from an early age by helping his mother run the shop.

His fascination with cars and airplanes began at age three when his mother took him to Wilson Airport to see airplanes. His father inspired his love for cars, and growing up near car garages in Kawangware allowed him to spend time with mechanics, learning about motor vehicles from a young age.

Kairo’s educational journey began at Huduma Primary Pre-Unit in Kawangware, continuing through Class 6 at the same school. He then transferred to World Hope Academy for classes 6 to 8. For high school, he attended Dagoretti High School (2011-2012) before completing his secondary education at Kahuho Uhuru High School (2012-2014), graduating with a C plain.

At 21, Kairo became a father to a son with his baby mama, a life-changing event that coincided with his early business struggles.
