His father, Domnic Owino Orieyo, passed away when Babu was in Class Three, leaving his mother as the sole provider for the family. To support her children, Babu’s mother sold chang’aa, an illicit brew, despite the challenges and legal risks associated with this trade.
He attended Kisumu Township Primary School from 1995 to 2002, then transferred to Central Primary School in Kisumu. In 2003, he joined Kisumu Boys’ Secondary School, where he sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 2006, scoring an impressive A-minus.
