Joyce Kamene was born and raised in Machakos County, where she began her educational journey. She attended Visa Oshwal Girls Secondary School from 1980 to 1983, where she completed her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

Her early career aspirations led her to pursue professional qualifications. She obtained an Accountants Clerk National Certificate (KASNEB) from Universal College between 1985 and 1986, laying the foundation for her future business ventures.
