Early Life & Education

Anne Wamuratha was born and raised in Kiambu County, where she was fully exposed to both the cultural richness and the economic challenges that shaped the lives of many families in the region.

Her education journey began in local schools in Kiambu, where she excelled in her studies. Between 1991 and 1993, she pursued professional training in accounting at the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB), where she successfully attained her KATC I and II Certificates.

She then advanced her studies at the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM) between 1994 and 1995, earning a Diploma. Muratha chose to focus on counselling and psychology, areas that aligned with her passion for family life, relationships, and community well-being.

She attributed the longevity of her relationship to a conscious decision to focus on her partner’s strengths and overlook minor flaws: “I have been in marriage for close to 30 years. We have supported each other, and that is not going to change. I learnt in marriage, you amplify the strengths of your partner, and lower the weaknesses, and you are able to live with that person.”
